Text Box: In early 1995, Simon Morris and Ron Starkey decided to create a private engine museum in Stutterheim.
The Historical Society bought a piece of ground and Len Edgecome donated the steel structure from his farm. A committee was formed with Ron Starkey as chair, Eric Wylde as secretary and legal advisor and Molly Starkey as treasurer.
In 2005 KWT’s BKSB funded the wing extensions with Noel Sparks’ help. ESKOM’s availability in the Eastern Cape caused many engines to become redundant, some of which were donated to the museum.
